The goal is transparency. At the behest of the Department of Justice ,  the National Association of Realtors has created new forms & rules in an effort to improve how Realtors communicate with Buyers and Sellers.

 

In Mississippi specifically, Realtors have been provided with new forms through which broker commissions can be negotiated. 

 

Beginning August 17, 2024 Realtors are required to have a signed Buyer Agreement before showing properties to prospective Buyers. The goal is that Buyers understand the terms of service upfront.

 

For Sellers, the Listing Agreement Forms have been changed to better clarify broker commission options.
